On Wednesday, December 21, I rode along with the Chocolate City guys as they delivered their kegs to bars around the city. While DC Brau was the first to launch their craft beer offering, Chocolate City came second, and are operating on a much smaller scale. (Three Stars, the third DC microbrewery, are still in their infant stages).
On my first day of filming, I shot two hours of footage with CCB. Here's a trailer-style snippet of our day and the first set of footage I'm releasing to the public. My thanks to Jay and Brian from CCB, as well as all the bars to which we delivered.

Welcome
Hi everyone and welcome. I'm a DC-based creative professional and one of my pet projects has been to put together a documentary on the new brewing scene in the Washington DC area, including both the history of craft beer nationally and the current state of things in the District. This blog will serve as a centralized place to see updates on the project, including footage as it's shot and posted, as well as any research and resources I gather along the way.
My intention is to portray both the lifestyle of folks who go into business in the beverage industry as well as the economic prospects for succeeding as a craft beer microbrewery. I don't have a title or release date yet for film. It will more likely be on the shorter side, as opposed to feature length.
